Welcome to My Blog Cabin

My parents, Gordon and Alene (Porter) Anderson moved from Idaho to Fairbanks, Alaska in the early 1950's, and I was born and raised just south of the Arctic Circle. This blog is devoted to capturing and sharing family history about them, their children, and their ancestry.

Both Gordon and Alene have passed on, but their descendents have a wealth of information and albums of photographs that they left behind. Some of the photos will have captions. Others will be unidentified. They are posted in the hope that someone will see something they have information about and can help fill in some of the blanks. If you see something on the blog that you have more information about, please take time to share it with us.

In time I hope to have gathered enough information to publish a history of their early married years and their adventures in Alaska. So come on in. I'll put another log on the fire, and you can relax and soak in the rustic atmosphere while I tell stories in my Blog Cabin.
